Tuesday 22nd November – “To Kill a Mocking Bird”

Atticus Finch, a lawyer in the racially divided town of Alabama, defends a young black man against an undeserved rape charge, and his children against prejudice.

• Please donate any DVD’s that you have that you don’t wish to view at home, so that we can offer them to our members and guests.

• At our monthly screenings we will set up the library so that you can check it and take DVD’s home to view.

• We ask you to leave a £1 donation in our pot for each DVD that you take away.

• If you take a DVD you are free to keep it, or when you have viewed it we hope that you will consider bringing it back to put in the library again.

As we all know, a good percentage of films produced, start life as books which become popular reads. November’s film “To Kill a Mocking Bird” became a classic book, even being used in schools, albeit that this was Harper Lee’s only book. So what has  this to do with WFS?

We want you to consider donating books that you have which have become the subject of films. “Books of theMovie” will be added to our DVD table starting with our November screening. So, on the run up to Christmas this is the ideal opportunity to do a major tidy-up of books and DVDs.

Wednesday 19th October 2011 – “The Social Network 2010”

This event takes place in the main hall at King Arthur’s School, West Hill, Wincanton . Doors open at 7pm for food tasting and sampling. Come and see the great selection of local foods on show, and sample them. After that sit back and relax on the padded seats on risers and watch “Julie and Julia” staring Meryl Streep. Watch this great movie on our 14 x 12 screen with great sound system. This is a Screen Bites evening, WFS are only providing the projection and crew.
